Internet story
I'm not quite sure of the month in which this incident happened, but the year was 2008. I was 17 at the time, and I live in deep south Texas in a city called San Benito. To be more specific, I live on the outskirts, so our home is out in the country.
One school night, I had gotten ready for bed and was lying down waiting for sleep kick in. My older brother sleeps in a separate room right next to mine and he keeps the door open to make sure I'm alright during the night. Finally sleep caught up with me and I turned on my side and fell asleep.
Suddenly, after I was asleep for quite a while, I woke up to find that I was in a state of night terrors. In this state, my mind and senses are fully awake, but my physical body is still in the throws of sleep. So I couldn't move a muscle or utter a single word. I could see everything around me, but my eyes were closed. It's like I was seeing with my subconscious, but I'm not dreaming. It's very hard to explain. Naturally, I panic when this happens because I'm terrified of being tied down. I tried with all my might to move, but all I could manage was a twitch. I tried calling to my brother, but all I heard from my throat was a muffled moan. I was scared.
Suddenly, I felt a presence manifest in the little space between my back and the wall. Amazingly, it wasn't a cold presence, but it was warm, like it was another person. I felt the shape of a warm arm wrap around my waist and felt the presence lean in and begin to speak into my ear. It was comforting me! I remember that I had understood it and even talked back to it as well. As soon as I calmed down, the presence spoke to me again, and these were the only three words I remember out all the things it said to me: "I love you." With that, it leaned away, took away its arm from around me and disappeared totally. I fell asleep right afterward.
I talked to my boyfriend the next morning, and he said that he missed me so much last night that he even dreamt that he was lying next to me with his arm around my waist, telling me he loved me. I swear to you this is all true! Was it him that comforted me through my night terror?
