Some of you know we are expecting another new grandbaby very soon, so at night I always put the cordless phone on the night stand.

Last night at approx. 3:30 AM, I was awoke to our phone pager that rang one time. In order for the pager to ring to locate the handset, a button on the phone stand has to be pushed. It then rings to page until another button is pushed on the handset.  Last night, it rang only once and didn't continue to ring.  It was a very strange.

There was no one awake and up in the house to push the page button. The phone stand sits atop our kitchen bar. We have no pets. The batteries aren't low,and it has never happened before. Any ideas on what the strange page was?

I live in a pretty active house and untill I started a different routine I used to think some off the strange things were paranormal. Our phone has done that before and we thought it was odd. So I moved the phone base in my room and took the phone off the base every night for a while and found out it does it quit often. We bought some new phones a little while back and the new ones dont do it. From what I have been told it is a pretty common thing. I dont know if it is true but a guy at Radio Shack said that the base sends a signal to the phone and sometimes it will do the "page" ring.

Thanks for the replies. That could be it, however it has never happened before.  Smiley

Anita, I'll let you know when the baby arrives and we can plan a date. This is just one of the many unexplained events that have happened. Note: the grandbaby wasn't home either. (smile)

Thanks again!

I do not have an explaination for why things happen. A few weeks ago I had gone to bed around 11:00 pm sleeping soundly I was woken up by the sound the computer makes when you turn it on and windows is opening up. I would have thought I was dreaming except my husband woke up and asked why I was on the computer in the middle of the night. I got up and checked the lap top in my room and the desk top in the room down the hall both computers were in logged off mode. Go figure!!

Is anyone else seeing strange, annoyed text at the top of the web page when they use it? It sort of hides the menu bars at the top.

most computers are set to update at night, some updates require a restart and I know mine if in the sleep mode will update restart and go back to the sleep mode automaticaly.  That might explain it or not, that is my 2 cents, or was it 3?  Who knows anymore? Grin Grin

I thought that was worth at least 5.   Grin

Oh and I agree, my computer does the same thing.

This is funny,
Our phone rang once in our bedroom last night, I picked it up to see if anyone was on it and it sounded like a fax machine going off.
I think sometimes it is faulty phones!
